Delin SpinetIf I could have only one harpsichord, and especially if I had a limited space, this would be the one. This spinet was inspired by an original instrument dated 1770, built by Albertus Delin (1712-1771) in Tournai and now preserved in the Brussels Musical Instrument Museum. The 56-note keyboard allows transposition to A440 without the loss of the top note. Here is an instrument with a rich round clear tone, pleasant touch, and a keyboard compass sufficient for perhaps 90% of the repertoire. Very portable and a great kit instrument for the novice builder. |
